I’m currently working on two AI topics around Digital Thread and PLM consulting — from two very different perspectives.
The first: how AI is changing the way we consult. What does AI-native consulting look like in practice?
The second: advising clients on AI itself. Specifically in the PLM world, that is, in the context of engineering data and processes and their connection across the Digital Thread.
The second strand is currently producing something very concrete: a maturity assessment that should give companies a clearer picture of where they stand with AI in engineering and product lifecycle. I’m working on it together with my colleagues at PROSTEP and BHC. A condensed, freely accessible online version is coming soon. (Update, Aug 30, 2026: it is now online at ai-check.prostep.com.)
Both topics are moving fast, and in six months the picture will look different again. Better to build the answers yourself now than to read about them later.
