Traceability is on everyone’s lips, but what exactly does it mean?
Together with my colleagues at BHC GmbH, I wrote a whitepaper on the topic, and we divide traceability into the following core capabilities:
- Proving that requirements are met
- Explaining factual relationships
- Transparency about risks
- Traceability of changes
- Handling deviations
Depending on the product and the company, these five core capabilities can matter to different degrees across a product’s life phases, which is why our whitepaper is titled “Traceability over Lifetime”.
